Pay Per Click

Pay per click advertising is an essential search engine marketing technique. Earning money with a website and PPC is a type of advertising where advertisers pay only when a customer surfing the net clicks on an ad used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites while visiting the advertiser's website.

The success of pay per click depends on the use of essential keywords that are typically and popularly typed in by people looking for a product or service. As soon as the user types a keyword relating to the advertiser’s keyword list or views a webpage with pertinent content, the advertiser's ad will show up. These are called sponsored ads or links and appear close to the natural results on search engine results pages. They may also appear anywhere a webmaster or a blogger chooses on a content page.

Pay per click ads may also appear on content network websites wherein ad networks such as Google Adsense and Yahoo! Publisher Network try to provide ads that are appropriate to the content of the page where they appear. In such cases, no search function is involved.
